Joint Problems Bring Hard Consequences

Untimely diagnosis and treatment could
cause deterioration

Joint problems are very common. Untimely treatment can lead to diseases which affect the whole body. There are lots of serious complications caused by joint inflammations. Some of them are:

Anemia
Treatment of the joint pains with anti-inflammatory drugs or steroids causes irritation of the stomach, which leads to blood loss. Anemia is characterized by fatigue, dizziness, headache, weakness and shortness of breath. Pale skin, cold hands and feet, fragile nails, chest pains and irregular heartbeat are also very common.

Cardiovascular Diseases
Prolonged joint inflammations increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases and strokes. Chest pains, shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea and weakness could also occur. The heart function is disturbed.

Eye Problems (Sjogren’s Syndrome)
Sjogren’s Syndrome is an inflammation of the salivary tear glands. It causes dry eyes and mouth and could lead to dry cough and dry skin. This could cause itching and burning, blurred vision and mouth infections.

Lung Problems
Joint diseases could lead to lung problems. Fibrous adhesions could occur – they turn the lung tissue into nonfunctional connective tissue. This could cause serious respiratory failure resulting in shortness of breath and dry cough.

Osteoporosis
Some cases of arthritis could lead to loss of bone mass. The risk of osteoporosis increases due to the reduced physical activity caused by the joint pains. Osteoporosis complications could result in back pains, fractures and spine curvature.

Inflammation of Blood Vessels
The inflammation of the blood vessels is called vasculitis. It is a rare but very serious complication caused by the joint diseases. Inflamed blood vessels cause disruption of the blood flow.

Depression
Pain caused by arthritis could lead to interruptions in work, sleep, feeding and many other activities. They could cause frustration and irritability which result in depression. Lack of interest to daily activities, lack of concentration and feeling of guilt and sadness are very common symptoms.
